Dickey’s Barbecue Locks in More California Locations

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit struck gold in California. The world’s largest barbecue franchise currently has 20 locations open in California and plans on opening at least three more locations before the end of the year. Franchise owner Rod Cockrum will be opening his location in Lodi later this month.”Dickey’s offers something that’s very unique–most Californians haven’t tasted smoked brisket,” said Cockrum. “We believe this community deserves the best and we know Dickey’s is the best BBQ around.”

Cockrum has lived in Lodi for the past 21 years. Prior to owning a Dickey’s, Cockrum was the owner of Oh My Yogurt in Lodi. Cockrum just graduated from Dickey’s Barbecue University, a development program that infuses owners and employees with the Dickey family secrets to running a successful restaurant, along with his General Manager Eric Kerker, General Manager in Training Dakota Stroh and his all-around Manger Steven Cockrum.

“Dickey’s food is genuine Texas barbecue — it’s smoked slow and low,” said Cockrum. “Not only is Dickey’s great for lunch or dinner, but we also offer catering for any event big or small.”

Cockrum’s new location is at 1379 South Lower Sacramento Rd. Suite 501, near Lowes. The store phone number is 209-365-9021.

Since 1941, the world’s largest barbecue franchise has offered free kids meals every Sunday and affordable family packs designed to bring the whole family together for dinner. Family packs come with a choice of two meats, three medium sides, six rolls and Dickey’s famous barbecue sauce.
