Yum! Restaurants Canada Expanding KFC in Atlantic Canada
Yum! Restaurants Canada is aggressively scouting new restaurant locations in Newfoundland as part of its Atlantic Canada growth strategy – and for the first time in 20 years, the company is opening up new franchise opportunities in Newfoundland.
Yum! franchisees operate 80 restaurants in the Atlantic provinces – with more than half slated for renovations and upgrades over the next two years in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland.
Now, the Colonel and KFC are eying the Newfoundland market – in search of new locations and new franchise partners, confirms Yum! Canada President Sabir Sami, who joined Yum! three years ago to lead KFC’s revitalization in Canada.
“KFC restaurants in Newfoundland are performing very well and our updated franchise models represent an attractive business opportunity for the brand,” explains Sami, adding that this is the first time KFC has opened up new franchise opportunities in Newfoundland for 20 years. Currently, we’re scouting for new locations in the entire province and we hope the local business community and KFC fans will help show us where we should build our next KFC in Newfoundland.”
