The Dwyer Group, a franchisor of seven service-based franchise brands, including Aire Serv®, Glass Doctor®, The Grounds Guys®, Mr. Appliance®, Mr. Electric®, Mr. Rooter®, and Rainbow International®, experienced its highest franchise sales month in the company’s 31-year history. During the month of March, 2012, The Dwyer Group awarded 46 franchise contracts, eclipsing the number of franchises awarded the previous March by 44 percent.
The franchise organization, which operates approximately 1,600 service-based franchises located in the US, Canada, and Europe, plans to continue its franchise-growth uptick in 2012. Thanks to the franchisor’s recent expansion the company’s new independently owned and operated franchise locations could generate up to 500 jobs throughout the United States and Canada.
“Enjoying this much growth right out of the gate in 2012 is a testament to the strength of our franchise brands and of the corporate teams in place taking initiative to drive growth,” said Doug Dixon Vice-President of Marketing and Operations, Franchise Development for The Dwyer Group. “We are confident that if we can award 275 new franchises by the end of the year, we will be able to positively impact job creation.”
New franchisees cite the franchisor’s proven business systems, marketing support, and unique corporate culture including its Code of Values® as key factors in their decision to open a franchise with one of The Dwyer Group’s seven brands. In addition to the growth efforts spurring job opportunities, The Dwyer Group has placed heightened emphasis on growing current and new programs geared toward helping military veterans, law enforcement officers, and fire rescue members realize their dreams of small business ownership.
“For putting their lives on the line every day for their country, The Dwyer Group has already helped 17 military veterans this year purchase a franchise through the International Franchise Association’s (IFA) VetFran program,” said Dina Dwyer-Owens Chairwoman and CEO of The Dwyer Group. “We even recently launched Public Protectors Franchise Advantage (PPFA) to salute current or former fulltime law enforcement or fire rescue members with a minimum of two years of full-time service, by offering 20 percent off the minimum franchise fee for any Dwyer brand.”
The Dwyer Group brands plan to continue its brands’ aggressive growth in 2013 and 2014, expanding its presence in major metros such as Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Toronto, Washington, D.C., Boston, Charlotte, and many other markets throughout North America.
