Real Estate Franchise, Pedal to Properties

BOULDER, COLORADO,
CYCLIST MATT KOLB may be the country’s first real estate agent on two wheels. It all started when Kolb’s cycling friends in Boulder, which boasts 50 miles of bike trails and 300 days of sunshine a year, began asking him to lead rides past properties for sale. “People came away from the rides saying they saw the neighborhood in a new ight—all the bike paths, the parks,”says Kolb, 35. “They said I should do this full-time.” Last May, Kolb and business partner Chris Sweeney opened Pedal to Properties. Instead of previewing buildings from the back of a realtor’s car, the duo’s clients ride beach cruisers. The concept has met overwhelming success in Boulder, says Kolb. “Now we’re set on expanding this around the country to [other] bike- friendly communities.”
