Weight loss leads to business opportunity

Allison Hollins had planned on retiring with her husband after a stressful 17-year stint as a nurse in the Atlanta area. But after her daughter visited a Slender Solutions store after los­ing 105 pounds through dieting and exercise, Hollins’ retire­ment plan was put on hold.

She watched her daughter’s loose, baggy skin tighten and tone up after donning full-body wraps during a session at a Slen­der Solutions location. A second visit to a franchise store toned her body even more and defined muscles, Hollins said.

That’s when the registered nurse decided to investigate the business herself. Hollins had been trying to lose weight with­out much success. So she went to see how the Slender Solutions process worked and opted to give it a try after talking with leaders at the business’ head­quarters in Florida.

The results were 24 total inches, and five pounds shed during and shortly after a first wrap in 2004.

Eight months later, 85 pounds were gone and Hollins was on her way to becoming a believer in the Slender Solu­tions detoxification formula. She was losing 10 pounds a month through one visit a month, and that’s not all.

“My energy level went up, and my stress level went down,” she said.

The impact of the visits so impressed her that she opened a Slender Solutions store in Au­burn in 2007, and in Montgom­ery just more than a year ago at the urging of Auburn store cus­tomers who lived in Montgom­ery.

The Slender Solutions for­mula is a full-body wrap combined with dual mineral treatments during a one-hour session. The results are amaz­ing, Hollins said while waiting on clients at her store on Minnie Brown Road off Chantilly Park­way in east Montgomery. As a veteran nurse, Hollins em­phasizes that she researched how the technique worked before signing on as a multiple franchise operator.

Hollins explains that a six-inch wide Ace medical bandage that is basted in mineral solu­tion is wrapped around the body of a client before the client takes part in a light workout for one hour. After the one-hour ses­sion, the customer is measured again to figure the total body inches lost.Hollins recommends return­ing for a treatment two weeks after the first one, or coming back after 10 pounds are lost. And the pounds will most likely come off, Hollins said.

“Due to the increase of me­tabolism, most people lose weight,” Hollins said. She said most people drop three pounds the first week after a wrap, and 1.5 pounds each week after that if food intake is steady.

Hollins explains that the wrap sessions are removing tox­ins that build up in the body and accumulate in tissue. The toxins could be additives in water, air and skin products. The toxins are removed from bloated fat cells and replaced with miner­als, she said.

The result is extra weight leaving, less stress and better metabolism, she said.

The DeKalb Medical College graduate in nursing shared more about her enterprise and how the pounds are lost.

Question: Why did you try Slender Solutions?

Answer: I had been trying to lose weight, and hadn’t been able to in 20 years. I lost 100 pounds.

Who are your clients?

We have everybody — guys working out at a gym who can’t get off a few stubborn pounds, women who have just had ba­bies, people in their 50s who want to get healthier, and doc­tors and lawyers and social workers who come in for the stress relief.

Is the secret in the min­eral solutions?

Yes, the minerals go through the skin and pressure toxins out during the process, and replace them, and fat cells decrease in size.

What’s new for your store?

We have an ionic footbath that takes 23 minutes and helps remove toxins in organs like the liver, mainly, and kid­neys, gall bladder and lymph system. It’s FDA-approved and you’ll probably be seeing them in doctors’ offices in the next few years.

What is the biggest inch loss you’ve seen in one ses­sion?

We had an 83-inch loss in one session with six inches lost in the midsection. The per­son did weigh 345 pounds.
