Barnie’s Coffee & Tea Announces Openings in Indonesia

ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ — Orlando-based Barnie’s Coffee & Tea Company, Inc. continues its global expansion with the opening of two new franchised stores in Jakarta, Indonesia. The stores, the chain’s first in the Asian market, are the work of master franchisee Tanto Kurniawan, and reflect the continued expansion of Barnie’s outside the U.S. market with stores already in operation in the Middle East and under development in Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Guatemala.
In addition to its expansion outside the U.S., the chain has added, in the past month, three new Barnie’s Coffee & Tea stores in the U.S., with another three stores scheduled to open before the end of 2004. Michael Daigle, the company’s Executive Vice President in charge of development, says: “By the end of 2004, we will have tripled the size of the Barnie’s franchise system over what it was this time last year. We already have another 25 stores on the boards for the first quarter next year and expect to open approximately 100 stores in 2005.”
