Every year The Flag Shop encourages Canadians to fly the flag for Canada Day – July 1st. This year, the promotion will also promote the Congres Mondial Acadien – the 400th anniversary of the Acadians who settled in Canada. In 1755, when England and France were at war, the Acadians were expelled from the land that is now called Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. They scattered all over the world. Most went back to France and to the United States. The Flag Shop is welcoming our Acadian friends with specials on Acadian flags.
