Franchising is sometimes described as a business in a box and many franchisors claim that very little, or no experience is necessary to run their business model. This may very well be true and indeed a good franchisor will be able to offer you his business experience and expert advice to keep you on the rails. That said, it is important to realize that
franchises, franchisors and franchisees differ a great deal and as a franchisee you are going to have to have to take responsibility for your own destiny. One area where many new business owners are weak is accounting. Your franchise should come with an accounting system for you to follow, but an understanding of the fundamentals will stand you in good stead.
