UFood expands in Lone Star State

UFood Restaurant Group Inc. will open its first eatery inside a hospital at Dallas' Parkland Memorial Hospital, the company said Tuesday.
The Newton, Mass., franchise retailer of healthier options of traditional fast food fare has signed a lease with the Dallas County public hospital through its Texas franchisee, Puente-Brancato Enterprises Inc. Puente-Brancato Enterprises also operates a location inside the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
"We are very pleased to be selected by one of the country's best and largest hospitals," said Gina Puente-Brancato, CEO of Puente-Brancato Enterprises.
In a recent interview, UFood CEO George Naddaff said outlets in hospitals, universities and airports are playing a large role in the franchise's expansion plans. The company announced last week the opening of a second location inside Boston's Logan International Airport.
UFood expects the restaurant in Parkland Memorial Hospital to open by Dec. 1.
