Papa Murphy's Take 'N Bake Pizza offers all the tastiness of a home-cooked pizza with none of the work.

In fact, a Papa Murphy's Take 'N' Bake franchise recently opened in the Stirling Plaza off Airline Drive in Bossier City.
"When I lived in Baton Rouge, we ate at a Papa Murphy's every Thursday," said owner Brandy Flurry. "When my family and I wanted to come back to Shreveport, we decided to open our own Papa Murphy's restaurant. We chose Bossier City because of its growth."
For those not familiar with taking and baking, it goes something like this: pick your favorite pizza, pick it up, take it home and bake it. Each pizza comes with instructions and a temperature and time chart.
"We don't even have an oven here and everything is fresh and organic," Flurry said. Staff at the restaurant hand-make fresh dough each day for the pizzas and desserts.
The concept began in California in 1995 with the merger of Murphy's Pizza and Papa Aldo's Pizza. Since then the company has expanded eastward to encompass more than 880 stores in 32 states.
As for the new Bossier Papa Murphy's - it's a family affair. Flurry's father, Dwight Fugate, co-owns the restaurant along with her husband.
In addition to pizza, Papa Murphy's has sub-sandwiches, salads, cinnamon rolls, cheesy bread, cookie dough and more.
Papa's Pizzas let you pick from more than 20 items. Featured items include the five meat stuffed pizza and The Cowboy, which contains pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, black olives and a unique herb and cheese blend.
There also is the Hawaiian, made with Canadian bacon and pineapple; and the Rancher: Canadian bacon, pepperoni, beef and mixed onion.
All stuffed pizzas are $12.99 for a large and $14.99 for family-size.
For those watching their waists, there are four deLite Pizzas with 44 percent fewer calories than regular pizzas.
Desserts include chocolate chip cookie dough by the pound, cinnamon wheels, cinnamon rolls with icing, and dessert pizza in apple or cherry.
"People are loving our pizza," she said.
