The Smoothie King in Arbor Trails at William Cannon is offering its customers $2 Smoothies all day Sunday and Monday (June 21-22) in celebration of Father's Day and its 1-year Anniversary.

Smoothie King Franchises Inc. is the originator of the fruit-based, nutritional smoothie concept and has grown to over 600 stores across the United States and internationally since opening its doors in 1973. The stores offer smoothies and a wide range of healthy snacks, vitamins and supplements with a special emphasis on the needs of people with food allergies as well as athletes. A recent Zagat Fast-Food Survey published this month ranked Smoothie King as the #1 smoothie nationwide.

The Smoothie King on William Cannon opened its doors on June 21, 2008 and is the most recent of five Smoothie Kings in the Austin area. The store recently donated nearly 1000 free smoothies to area teachers and school staff to thank them for a "job well done" during the school year, and has been active in several fund raising efforts for schools, cancer research, and other local fund drives. Because the store anniversary falls on Father's Day, the owner wanted to extend the discount an additional day to celebrate Father's day as well as the anniversary at the same time.

Discounts during the two-day event include $2 small, $3 medium and $4 large smoothies and 15% off all supplements and vitamins. There will also be special door prizes and drawings during the event
