November 11, 2010 – Gilbert, Arizona – According to Entrepreneur magazine, home care is ranked the number one industry to enter now. The combination of a growing client base in the senior citizen population, an increasing awareness of home care as an option, and the number of hospitals and organizations ready to work with home care companies make it increasingly profitable. A report from the U.S. General Accounting Office shows that more than 12 million Americans need long-term care. About 80 percent of these people would rather receive this care in their home, a need seen to by Synergy HomeCare. In addition, the Geronotological Society of America reports over 34 million people in the U.S. are over the age of 65. As the baby boomers age, the Society also projects this population will more than double by the year 2030; Seniors will represent about one-fifth of the population. By providing for the needs of this group, Synergy HomeCare has seen dramatic growth, particularly in the past five years. However, Synergy HomeCare is unique among competitors in its proven ability to provide high quality care to people of all ages, which broadens the client base significantly. One successful franchisee, Rodger Miller, is reaping the benefits that come with entrepreneurial elbow grease and Synergy’s efficient franchise plan. A seasoned veteran of the banking industry, Miller saw first-hand the fulfillment and control of business-owning peers. He concluded that he wanted to become the master of his own business, and followed that goal to FranNet, a franchising consulting company. Working closely with Dick Munson, FranNet consultant, Miller explored the franchising opportunities that would best fit his desire to attain success and provide a valuable service to others. The burgeoning home care industry and positive experiences with his father using home care services as well as solid evidence of success potential motivated him to move to the next step with Synergy HomeCare. One investigative phone call with Shirley Kefgen, Franchise Developer at Synergy HomeCare was enough for Miller to seriously consider reserving a territory in the Cincinnati area. Miller recollects that Synergy HomeCare was understanding of his needs as a potential buyer and provided a plethora of information concerning the home care industry. Synergy HomeCare carefully screens potential franchisees to ensure that mutually beneficial relationships are formed. Synergy HomeCare was impressed with Miller’s goal-oriented outlook and passion for home care possibilities. “Franchise Owners do not need to have experience in the home care or health care industries, but they really do need to be passionate about what they do,” Says Kefgen. “We don’t award franchises to everyone, only the people who will lead home care in their territory, and who understand the needs of the people they will serve.” Following the Synergy development process, Miller reserved his franchise territory and booked his ticket for Decision Day, a full business day with Synergy’s executive team. Upon meeting founder and CEO Peter Tourian, Chief Operating Officer Patrick Tourian and Director of Operations, Paul Avona, Miller was completely invested in the company. The strong leadership of Synergy HomeCare confirmed in Miller his excitement for the industry “You get a flavor of somebody when you meet them”, he says. “They were really good people. They weren’t in it to make a hard sale and had my best interest as a franchisee in mind.” Cincinnati is fortunate to have such a well-prepared and ardent home care provider. Miller looks forward to lengthening his reach in his territory. In one year, he cultivated a business that animates competitors to improve their services. Overall, the home care atmosphere in Cincinnati is energized and the quality of service is better for all clients. In a fluctuating environment, the business-savvy are ignoring temporary trends, and dedicating their efforts toward more concrete ventures. The franchisors that wind up on top of the business world usually have the best models and most foreseeable outcomes for franchisees.
