The 100 per cent Australian owned Cold Rock Ice Creamery franchise has licked its way to a 15 per cent increase in sales for the first quarter 2009 compared to the previous period for 2008. The sales increase confirms Cold Rock's rise to prominence in the Australian ice cream marketplace with 84 stores opened since the company began operations in 1995. "Cold Rock is the fastest growing ice cream franchise system in Australia and outperforms other brands owned by public companies or multinationals. We are just one store away from becoming the second largest ice creamery in terms of stores opened and turnover, " said Cold Rock's marketing manager Simon Stewart. "Our franchise company is proud of its 100 per cent Australian heritage and at a time when some companies with iconic Aussie brand names are controlled by overseas interests, we believe the major contribution Cold Rock plays in the marketplace is a very important one, particularly in light of the prevailing tight economic conditions. "Cold Rock is all about creating products based on customers' individual preferences. The feedback we constantly receive is that Cold Rock offers a taste sensation like no other and is the place to go for that special treat," Simon enthused. By year end, Cold Rock expects to have 89 stores opened around Australia.
